Captain America: The Medusa Effect [Comics]

Captain America: The Medusa Effect was a 1994 one-shot written by Roy Thomas. Set entirely in World War II, the comic tells of Captain America's and Bucky's battle to stop Baron Zemo from unleashing a death ray (the eponymous "Medusa Effect"). Roy Thomas, to my mind, is one of the best ever at writing World War II-era comics, as he has a perfect feel for the era and the characterization of classic heroes. High quality stuff, well-worth picking up as a good sample of Captain America at his finest.
