Originally published in English as Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Journal d'un degonfle was a hilarious read. Although marketed to adolescents, the self-described exploits of the diary's fictional author are just as entertaining to adults, and for me brought back some of the sheer goofiness of being a kid: grand plans abandoned in an hour or two, finding any excuse to get out of class, feuding with friends and siblings, and more. The book is copiously illustrated with kid-like drawings that just add to flavor and humor. Great fun, and I'm planning on picking up more in the series.
